Bath-based Clare Emberson-Pratt is the Managing Director of Emberson Group, a collective of employee-owned creative agencies. She gives her insights on the importance of exercising and sustainability goals.
How are you keeping positive through Lockdown 3.0?
Lockdown has tested everyone’s mettle. I’m inspired daily by the extraordinary way my family, friends and colleagues have pulled together with good grace and humour. I’m extremely grateful for that.
How are you structuring your day? Have you changed your habits?
I recognise that my daily routine may not suit everyone and I am mindful of respecting other people’s routines and boundaries.
Are you doing anything new?
I’m running with my teenage daughter. She doesn’t want to talk all of the time and puts her headphones in, but I’m very thankful to be running by her side (and keeping up most of the time!).
Have you changed your New Year resolutions?
I’ve committed to taking the time for some form of exercise every day (running, walking, HIIT workouts). It helps my mood and my clarity of thought.
Have you introduced any new rituals?
Browsing the Sweaty Betty website!
What are you most looking forward to when restrictions are lifted?
Laughter, hugs, celebration, community.
What is your biggest goal this year?
Sustainability: personally, professionally and business-wise.
To do this on a personal level I am focusing on keeping my mental health in check, so I can help support my family, friends and team too. As a group we are also committed to working with Bath Mind again this year.
What has the past nine months taught you and how has it shaped your future for the better?
Celebrating a decade of Emberson Group, we’ve taken the opportunity to reflect on what is important to us and how we’d like to shape the next 10 years.
Emberson was founded on the guiding principle that it is possible to ‘do well and do good’. Our people are shareholders and our biggest asset. To help us stay true to our words, we’ve signed up to become a Certified B Corporation. We’re committed to a global movement of people that use business as a force for good.
